Take Flight Summer Program:

This unique summer program is for 3-year-olds with significant speech and/or language delays who are not yet ready for Wings on Words Summer Camp. Parents and children attend this program together three mornings a week for a period of 6 weeks. The goal is to provide opportunities for speech and language development in a social, play-based context directed by certified early-childhood teachers and speech-language pathologists. Parents typically remain with their children in all activities throughout much of the first or second week of camp. Over time, however, parents gradually transition out of the classroom to watch activities from observation areas containing one-way windows and closed-circuit TV. The goal is to have children develop the confidence to work on their own with teachers and other children - even when parents are not present. Parent observation of class activities and information provided by teachers and therapists assist parents to develop facilitating speech and language strategies to use with their children at home.  An individual speech/language therapy session is also provided weekly for each child. No more than 12 children participate in this program at any one time.
Registration forms are available after March of each year by clicking here.
